Receiving an award can inspire a tremendous amount of encouragement, particularly when the recognition is unexpected. So a very special thank you goes to the leaders of Society of American Military Engineers, and to the National Facilities Asset Management Committee, for conferring a tangible expression of their appreciation for services rendered, in the presence of long-respected peers, during this year's Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo. People are THE most valuable resource available to any organization. So whether their time and talent are provided for a salary, or given voluntarily, organizational members tend to positively respond to appreciation received at their workplace, especially when it’s expressed through recognition of their efforts because it confirms their efforts are valued. Even a simple thank you can go a long way, and will not only make them feel better about themselves, but will actually benefit their organization in the process. It's always good to let those committed to the success of an organization know their service is not only noticed, but appreciated as well.
