FM3IS Participation in NAE Consensus Study Report on Managing Capital Assets


After a nearly two-year effort, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) published a consensus study report on “Managing the NIH Bethesda Campus’s Capital Assets for Success in a Highly Competitive Global Biomedical Research Environment.” SVP Thomas L. Mitchell, Jr., CFM, IFMA Fellow, along with 13 other consensus study committee members, were specifically recruited by the NAE to accomplished the US Congressionally-chartered task of identifying the facilities in greatest need of repair on the National Institute of Health's (NIH) Bethesda campus, and evaluate relevant cost estimates to determine what investment is needed for the NIH to successfully accomplish its mission going forward.
